$2 Ladies Night Takes Over for Postponed Eve of Destruction XII

Eve of Destruction 12, Meridian Speedway’s mid-summer celebration of chaos, has been postponed.  The event, traditionally scheduled for the first Saturday of August, WILL STILL BE HELD later this summer, on a date yet to be determined as Meridian Speedway works to bring our fans the best possible show within the guidelines set forth by state and local authorities.

Taking over the Saturday, August 1, event slot will be $2 Ladies Night featuring the Pit Stop USA NASCAR Modifieds, Teleperformance Street Stocks, Project Filter Pro-4s, Mini Stocks, Big Daddy’s Barbecue Hornets, and the Firehouse Pub & Grill Bombers.  Plus, this week features the return of the Spectacular Drags!  All ladies can catch the action for just $2 when they purchase tickets online, while general admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and military members, $7 for kids 7-11, and, as always, kids 6 and under get into the Concrete Jungle for free.

Tempers ran high last Saturday night as Pit Stop USA NASCAR Modified drivers Brendon Fries and Josh Jackson traded some serious paint in the division’s twin 25 lap features.  With his victories Jackson leap-frogged Travis Pavlacky to take second place in the standings, 26 behind Fries.  Who will survive this Saturday night’s action?

Most recent Teleperformance Street Stock winner Chad Atnip has finally distanced himself from the steel-bodied stock car pack.  Second place runner Kendra Occhipinti sits 34 markers back of Atnip, with the rest of the top five, including fellow race winners Pat Young, Troy Evans, and past division champion Josh Fanopoulos, separated by just 20 points.  What standings shake up awaits on $2 Ladies Night?

If any of Jordan Harris’ Project Filter Pro-4 competitors are to make a run at the championship, they had better start Saturday.  With 91 points in hand over second place point earner Cody McDonald another victory for Harris will stretch his lead from significant to nearly insurmountable.

Travis Pavlacky has pulled out to a sizeable lead himself in the Mini Stock ranks.  Despite a furious challenge from second place Don Trafford, Pavlacky now holds forty points over his closest pursuer.  But in a division where anything can happen, don’t count anyone out of title contention just yet.

Jeff Matuska leads Morgan Trammel and Neil Wassmuth into the Big Daddy’s Barbecue Hornet action Saturday with a familiar question hanging over his head.  What game will he need to master this weekend?  Find out this Saturday as these low buck racers go wheel-to-wheel for the win.

After a wild end to the Firehouse Pub and Grill Bombers’ last appearance, Rob Taylor looks to take full control of the division that has become a fan favorite.

Tickets for $2 Ladies Night are available for purchase through www.meridianspeedway.com.  Gates open Saturday, August 1, at 4:45 p.m. and the first green flag waves at 6:45 p.m.  Stay up to date with all the latest updates from around the quarter-mile at meridianspeedway.com and text ‘meridianspeed’ to 84483 to receive exclusive updates via our text club.  We’ll see you Saturday, August 1, for $2 Ladies Night under the big yellow water tower at your NASCAR Home Track, Meridian Speedway.
