DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Thursday, March 1, 2012) – For Meridian Speedway, it was an easy decision to sign their 2012 ASA Member Track sanction.  The quarter-mile asphalt oval located in Meridian, ID appreciates the stability that ASA provides and feels that they could be a track to challenge for the 2012 ASA Member Track National Championship.

“We really appreciate how ASA Racing is always looking out for short tracks like Meridian Speedway,” Adam Nelson, Meridian’s Promoter said.  “We are glad that they provide a product that is very stable for us.  They go out of their way to keep the sanctioning and membership affordable for us.  Dennis Huth and his staff are very concerned about all of their tracks and series. They do everything they can to help us be successful.”

Another thing that Meridian Speedway is looking forward to in 2012 is be in the challenge for the ASA Member Track National Championship.  Their ASA Modified division was very competitive with their 2011 track champion Shelby Stroebel competing for the title last year.  “We feel that we have what it takes to help our 2012 track champion compete for the National Title,” Nelson said. “It would be a big feather in our cap to be the home of this year’s National Champion.”

Nelson also feels that as ASA grows as a sanctioning body, the ASA Member Tracks and Series will grow as well.  “We receive calls from many tracks that are interested in the ASA Member Track program,” Nelson said. “We help them see all of the benefits so they can make an informed decision. By working together, we all can make short track racing more successful.”

Meridian Speedway recently introduced a new and improved website where fans can view their 2012 schedule and meet the competitors who compete every Saturday night during the season.  Their 2012 season opens on Saturday, April 21.  Their website address

They are proud to offer affordable family admission for their weekly show with $10 adult admission, $7.50 for Seniors/Military, $6.00 for ages 7-11 and 6 and under are FREE.

“We are very proud to continue our relationship with Meridian Speedway,” Dennis Huth, ASA President said.  “Adam Nelson, along with his partners, staff, and competitors continue to host some of the best short track racing in the Boise/Meridian area.  We wish them nothing but success for the 2012 season.”
