BOOM and DOOM: Eve of Destruction 11 Set to Smash, Crash Meridian Speedway

Meridian Speedway brings the thunder this Saturday, August 3, as Eve of Destruction 11 storms the quarter-mile asphalt oval.  The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Modifieds, Factory Motor Parts Mini Stocks, Mulder Engineered Junior Late Models, Project Filter Pro-4s, Big Daddy’s Barbecue Hornets and Firehouse Pub and Grill Bombers provide the racing thrills while The Beast Jet Car, World Famous Trailer Races of Destruction, The Gauntlet, Spectacular Drags, and Fireworks handle the smashing and crashing that has made this the can’t-miss Saturday of the speedway season.

The fight for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Modified title has become a bare knuckle brawl between Wyatt King, Casey Tillman, and Shelby Stroebel.  Though he has only one victory on the season, King holds a 36 point cushion over Casey Tillman and 112 over preseason favorite Shelby Stroebel.  Can King keep his rivals at bay, or will the chaos of Eve of Destruction 11 spill over into the standings races?

Action in the Factory Motor Parts Mini Stock division has been tight all year, but Travis Pavlacky has managed to mount a charge to the top of the points heap.  But Pavlacky has fast company in Fred Vigil, who looks to put Pavlacky’s truck in his rearview mirror and erase his 52 point deficit once and for all this Saturday.

Rusty Houpt has found the ragged edge in the Mulder Engineered Junior Late Models.  With back-to-back trips to the Caleb’s Chop Shop Winner’s Circle, Houpt holds a comfortable forty point lead over Bailey Fanopoulos as the division makes its Eve of Destruction debut.

Ken Chandler Racing has dominated the Project Filter Pro-4 ranks this season.  Despite the five wins Chandler has amassed this season, he holds a lead of only 18 markers over Jordan Harris as the pair speed into the final five races of the campaign.

What would an Eve of Destruction be without the crazy brave drivers in the Big Daddy’s Barbecue Hornets and Firehouse Pub and Grill Bombers?  This year promises even more bashes, crashes, and smashes than last year, and the competitors are readier than ever to take on whatever challenge is put in front of them.
