Booms, Vrooms Take Center Stage on Eve of Destructionadmin
Booms and vrooms take over Meridian Speedway this Saturday, August 6 for Eve of Destruction 8. Vrooms come courtesy of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Modifieds, Teleperformance Claimer Stocks, Pepsi Crate Cars, TATES Rents Hornets, and Spectacular Drags. The World Famous Boat Races, Hornets versus the Gauntlet, Reverse Race, The Beast Jet Dragster Hornet Meltdown, and post-race fireworks provide Saturday night’s boom.
Action in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Modifieds has been tight all season long. Last Saturday night Meridian Speedway regular Colton Nelson went toe-to-toe with Magic Valley Speedway interloper Jeff Wade. Wade got the better of that battle, and for his efforts overtook Nelson in the NASCAR Division I State Championship standings by one point. Can Nelson use this Saturday’s race to pull ahead of Wade and close the gap on state point leader Kris Mckean?
Competition has been high in the Teleperformance Claimer Stock division since the season’s first green flag. Brian Hyde has claimed the lion’s share of victories thus far in 2016, but Micky Lawson and Josh Hale have their hot rods tuned up and won’t surrender the checkered flag without a fight.
The next generation of open-wheel racers at Meridian Speedway have cleaned up the Pepsi Crate Car trophies thus far in 2016. Can anyone stop teenagers Justin Segura and Riley Rogers from collecting the Excel Equipment Company trophy?
The TATES Rents Hornets division has been hotly contested all year. Rookies Josh Randolph and Adam Deane have pushed each other hard in every event, and find themselves separated by just thirteen markers going into Saturday night’s action. Who will reign supreme after the dust settles on the eighth Eve of Destruction?
General admission to a full night of racing and wrecking is just $12.50 for adults, $6.50 for kids 7-11.
