Fire and Fury Return This Friday and Saturday

The Speed Tour Sprint Cars presented by Pit Stop USA storm Meridian Speedway this Friday and Saturday, June 4 and 5, for the 33rd running of the Neil Alan Fine Jewelry Diamond Cup.  The Speed Tour Supermodifieds and Rocky Mountain Midgets run back-to-back nights as well, with the Pauly’s Bar Room Street Stocks, Domino’s Legends, Project Filter Pro-4s, and Big Daddy’s Barbecue Hornets round out a two-night lineup of short track thrills and spills.

Since 1989, the fastest supermodified and winged sprintcar drivers in the Northwest have converged on Meridian Speedway for the two-day test of man and machine known as the Neil Alan Fine Jewelry Diamond Cup.  Local racer Cory Lockwood has dominated in the Concrete Jungle of late, winning five of the last eight races held under the big yellow water tower, and look to unseat both defending Neil Alan Fine Jewelry Diamond Cup winner Casey Tillman and open-wheel phenom Bryan Warf.  But a lightning-fast contingent from all corners of the Northwest and beyond are ready, too, and look to make the custom-built diamond ring trophy their own.

The Speed Tour Supermodifieds presented by Pit Stop USA run the JP Memorial this Friday and Saturday night.  After a pace lap tangle last year, Ricky Otts and Jim Birges return to the quarter-mile with a vengeance, while defending champion Colton Nelson looks to pilot his supermodified to a second-straight JP Memorial victory.  With qualifying and positioning heats on Friday and the feature on Saturday, there’s sure to be no shortage of action as these wild open-wheelers and more battle it out.

The Rocky Mountain Midgets are never short on thrills when they visit the Concrete Jungle.  Completing the open-wheel triple-double header, these machines look to dice their way around Meridian Speedway’s tight quarter-mile.

Friday night’s festivities include the Pauly’s Bar Room Street Stocks and Domino’s Legends.  Saturday night sees the Project Filter Pro-4s and the Big Daddy’s Barbecue Hornets.
