Fireworks Fly On and Off Track This Sunday Night

Meridian Speedway celebrates Independence Day with Speed Tour Sprint Cars this Sunday, July 4, as the fastest racers in the West do battle in the Stinker Stores Firecracker 50.  The Pepsi Sprintcars, Mulder Engineered Race Engines Junior Late Models, Project Filter Pro-4s, and Big Daddy’s Barbecue Hornets provide the on-track fireworks, while the City of Meridian fireworks display lights up the summer sky after the final checkered flag waves.

Colton Nelson clings to a thirteen-point lead over Speed Tour Sprint Cars presented by Pit Stop USA foe Cory Lockwood as the pair thunder into the Stinker Stores Firecracker 50.  Nelson looks to bounce back after a heartbreaking loss in the division’s last visit to the tight quarter-mile asphalt oval, but Lockwood has been nearly invincible at Meridian Speedway over the last twelve months.  Who comes out on top of the standings this Sunday night?

Three drivers have claimed a Pepsi Sprintcar division victory so far in 2021.  With two wins under his belt, Ryan Newman leads fellow two-time winner Johnny Giesler by 27 markers and last week’s main event winner Bryan Warf by 56 points.  Can Giesler and Warf use Sunday’s sprintcar showdown to close the gap on Newman?

Delaney Grace leads the Mulder Engineered Race Engines Junior Late Models into Stinker Stores Firecracker 50 night.

The Project Filter Pro-4 division was busy this week repairing damage to several cars suffered early in last week’s meeting.

The Big Daddy’s Barbecue Hornets pay homage to Paul Revere this Sunday with a lights-out feature to close Sunday’s racing action.

Plus, once the final checkered flag waves, you’ll have the best seat in the Treasure Valley for the City of Meridian fireworks show!

General admission to Sunday’s full night of short track action is just $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and military members, $7 for kids 7-11, and free for kids 6 and under.  Gates open at 4:45 p.m. with racing at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.  Fireworks blast off after completion of the final main event.  Seats are filling up fast!  Purchase your advance tickets online at www.meridianspeedway.com before they’re all gone.  Can’t make it out to the Concrete Jungle?  Full coverage of the Stinker Stores Firecracker 50 festivities will be available on SpeedCast.tv.  We’ll see you this Sunday, July 4, for the Stinker Stores Firecracker 50 under the big yellow water tower at your NASCAR Home Track, Meridian Speedway.
