Hornets Headline Hot August Race for Hunger 125

The wild and wacky Big Daddy’s Barbecue Hornets take over Meridian Speedway this Saturday, August 21, for the longest race on their 2021 schedule, the Hot August Race for Hunger 125.  The Bud Light NASCAR Modifieds, Pepsi Sprintcars, Pauly’s Bar Room Street Stocks, and Zamp Race Products Stingers round out a race night full of short track action.

The 125-lap Hot August Race for Hunger presents a unique endurance challenge for the men and machines of the Big Daddy’s Barbecue Hornet division.  Point leaders Jeff Matuska and Dale Bolinger roll into this 31-mile torture test separated by just eleven points, each looking for their second victory of the season.

Despite his five Bud Light NASCAR Modified main event victories, Josh Fanopoulos leads two-time winner Kyle Latham by a mere 29 markers.  Can Latham race his way closer to the point lead, or will Fanopoulos tighten his grip on the championship?

It’s been one month since the Pepsi Sprintcars last took to the Concrete Jungle.  As these open-wheelers rumble to green Saturday, Ryan Newman looks to build on his 20-point standings lead over Johnny Giesler, who has just three races to put himself back on top of the division.

The Pauly’s Bar Room Street Stocks wrap up a grueling three-week stretch of the 2021 schedule Saturday.  Last weekend, Josh Fanopoulos pulled even with Troy Evans in the win column, and extended his point lead to 126 as the division charges into its final four features.

In Zamp Racing Products Stinger action, Niko Heinzel finds himself 42 points ahead of Aaden Fanopoulos in the standings entering Saturday night.
