Legends, Midgets Lure Northwest’s Best Saturday

Meridian Speedway hosts stars from throughout the West this Saturday, July 17, as the quarter-mile asphalt oval kicks off the second half of its 2021 campaign with Weed Man Lawn Care Night at the Races presented by Aaron’s Sales and Lease.  The Salt Lake City Midgets and a Domino’s Legends regional qualifying race pack the pit area with regional talent, while the Coors Pro-Late Models, Boise Bath and Kitchen Company Mini Stocks, and Zamp Race Products Stingers round out a full slate of short track racing.

The always exciting Salt Lake City Midgets take on the Concrete Jungle Saturday night.  These nimble open-wheelers make their second of three visits to the Concrete Jungle chasing Diamond Cup weekend winners Randy Schaaf and Cheyenne Merrill.

Domino’s Legends from around the Northwest assemble for a Saturday night rumble in the Concrete Jungle.  Local point leaders Jerry and Chance Davis are both searching for their second win of the 2021 campaign, while two-time winner Brok Kidd looks to close in on his division rivals with a third victory Saturday.

The Coors Pro-Late Model division has become Daytona Wurtz’ personal playground.  With victories in six of the seven feature races this season, Wurtz hold a 118-point cushion over Melissa Weaver, who is still searching for her first Feature Flag of the year.

Crowding the quarter-mile for Weed Man Lawn Care Night at the Races presented by Aaron’s Sales and Lease are the Boise Bath and Kitchen Company Mini Stocks.  Just eighteen markers separate point leader Travis Pavlacky from title foe Don Trafford as the pair take to the Concrete Jungle this Saturday.

Niko Heinzel and Aaden Fanopoulos have paced the Zamp Race Products Stinger ranks since the first green flag waved, but Payton Weller looks to crash the boys’ party and tally a second win on the season this Saturday night.

General admission to a night of full contact short track action is just $13 for adults, $11 for seniors and military members, $7 for kids 7 to 11, and free for kids 6 and under.  Gates open at 4:45 p.m. Saturday with qualifying at 6 p.m. and racing at 6:30 p.m.  For advance tickets, log on to www.meridianspeedway.com.  We’ll see you under the big yellow water tower this Saturday, July 17, for Weed Man Lawn Care Night at the Races presented by Aaron’s Sales and Lease at your NASCAR Home Track, Meridian Speedway.
