NAPA Big 5 Latemodels Set to Rock the Quarter-Mile Saturdayadmin
This Saturday, April 23, the second chapter of the NASCAR era at Meridian Speedway will be written as the NAPA Auto Parts Big 5 Latemodels open their season under the big yellow water tower. Joining the ground-pounding fun are the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Modifieds, Kendall Ford of Meridian Mini Stocks, Teleperformance Claimer Stocks, and the College of Western Idaho High School Tuners.
After an action-packed season opening race the NAPA Auto Parts Big 5 Latemodels take to the track Saturday for the first of five dashes they’ll run in 2016. With the opening-race carnage in their rear view mirror, the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series field looks to regroup for the second half of their back-to-back season opening appearances.
The Kendall Ford of Meridian Mini Stocks roll back onto the speedway Saturday with the field already chasing five-time champion Jason Sanders for the top spot. The crowd-favorite Teleperformance Claimer Stocks fire engines on a new season as a refreshed pack of contenders do battle to unseat inaugural champion Casey Hart and his big orange pickup truck.
The always-entertaining College of Western Idaho High School Tuners also make their season debut Saturday with all eyes on Kendra Occhipinti, who’s racing for her third straight class championship. The family fun continues with the first installment of the Commercial Tire Bike Races 4 Kids.
