New Year Goes Green for Winter Heat Round 3admin
Get your year in gear this Saturday, January 5, with the third installment of the Boise Bath and Kitchen Company Winter Heat Series. After a thrilling 100 lap feature to close 2018, the lightly tuned grocery getters of the Big Daddy’s Barbecue Hornets assemble for an early-year smackdown, while the built in a day Bombers and anything goes Open Division speed around the quarter-mile oval in pursuit of their own 2019-opening hardware.
Regular-season champion James Pahl survived the 100 lap battle of attrition that was the Big Daddy’s Barbecue Hornet last meeting. But an ever-growing field of hard-driving competitors looks to test the title holder at every turn Saturday.
Youngster Jody Moen has made the most of her post-season opportunities, as she walked away with the Bomber division hardware in the last Boise Bath and Kitchen Company Winter Heat Series event. While Moen gets faster and faster with every lap, so does her competition.
The Open Division features any racing machine on an eight inch wide tire. So far the division results have been split one-to-one between the Big Daddy’s Barbecue Hornets and Junior Stingers. What class steps up their game Saturday to collect the Open Division prize?
