Miller, Jackson Split NASCAR Modified Mains

The green flag waved over a wild night of racing at Meridian Speedway on Saturday, June 8, as the quarter-mile asphalt oval hosted the O’Reilly Auto Parts Twin 25’s. The NASCAR Modifieds, Domino’s Legends, Idaho CDL Training Street Stocks, Project Filter Pro-4s, and Meridian Speedway Bandoleros ran double dashes Saturday in pursuit of the night’s Trammel Construction feature flags.

NASCAR Modified racer Caity Miller put on a patience clinic in the division’s first feature as she methodically picked her way through traffic to the front of the field. It took Miller fifteen laps to work her Joe’s Race Products, Kustom Fab modified onto the Pepsi-Cola scoreboard, but once she did, she rolled to the lead and eventually the win. Josh Jackson took the lead early and never looked back until he parked his Ray’s Diesel and Auto Repair, Lestarjette Painting machine in the Caleb’s Chop Shop Winner's circle.

Mike Soiseth motored to the night’s first Domino’s Legends feature win ahead of the rowdy restarting Roxali Kamper. Kamper’s aggression out of the blocks continued in the night’s second feature where she immediately piloted her The Buckway Group, Discount Tire machine to the high groove and blasted three-wide into the top five. But Kamper’s gamble led her to brush the back stretch wall, which hampered her machine just enough that she couldn’t track down defending division champ Leon Tridle III, who piloted his car to the win.

The Idaho CDL Training Street Stock standings changed early in the first feature when point leader Scott Groom’s 1st Step Auto Reconditioning car was collected in an accident and hammered the back stretch wall. This left the lead with siblings Kendra and Taylor Occhipinti. Kendra chose the outside line for her Marv’s Tire Service, Sonic Crush entry on the restart and powered past Taylor to take the win. The second O’Reilly Auto Parts Twin 25 went to Josh Fanopoulos and his dominant Certified Services, Carbon Designs Racing Vinyl machine.

Niko Heinzel gave defending Project Filter Pro-4 champion Jordan Harris all he could handle in both of Saturday night’s features. But no matter how hard Heinzel pushed his Kims Kars machine, Harris’ Allan Marsh Travel Center, H&H Auto mount was too strong, and he claimed victory in both of the division’s features.

Mariya Solomon three-wheeled her Wiseman Excavation, Dura-Crete racer to the night’s first Meridian Speedway Bandolero feature win, but contact put her out of contention early in the second feature. This left Bristol Monroe’s Torch Towing and Transport machine in control of the race, with her brother Tayton Monroe second and Tucker Webster third.
