Saturday Showdown Crowns Fistful of Champions
Championship season shifts into high gear at Meridian Speedway this Saturday, October 5, as the Boat Race of Destruction Season Finale presented by Ryan Shelby at Guild Mortgage takes over the quarter-mile asphalt oval. The NASCAR Modifieds, Zamp NASCAR Latemodels, Pepsi Sprintcars, Project Filter Pro-4s, and Firehouse Pub and Grill Bombers conclude their 2024 campaigns while the Idaho Asphalt Services Hornets run their second-to-last feature in pursuit of the night’s YMC Mechanical trophies.
Brendon Fries faces a new challenger in the NASCAR Modifieds’ final meeting of the season. Fries has led the division standings over Caity Miller for the majority of 2024, but now faces a red-hot Josh Jackson who enters Saturday night just 34 points behind Fries. Don’t miss a lap of this heavyweight title fight under the lights this Saturday night.
The year’s closest point battle comes to a close Saturday as Zamp NASCAR Latemodel competitors Andrew Palmer and Melissa Weaver go wheel-to-wheel for the title. Palmer leads Weaver by five points entering the night, thanks in large part to his four feature wins this season. While Weaver has only one feature win this year, a second would go a long way toward erasing her point deficit.
Pepsi Sprintcar point leader Casey Tillman takes a victory lap Saturday night. Tillman holds a full 159 point advantage over second-place runner Jordan Harris as they rumble to green for the final time in 2024.
Jordan Harris has a firm hold on the Project Filter Pro-4 division standings. Harris leads point runner-up Sam Harris by a full 71 markers as the pair roll into the Concrete Jungle for the last time this season.
Firehouse Pub and Grill Bomber racer Corbin Black looks to put a bow on his season with one final feature win on Boat Race of Destruction Season Finale Night presented by Ryan Shelby at Guild Mortgage. Black leads Keith Gonzales by 156 points and needs only to start the feature and the night’s Boat Race of Destruction to take home the title.
The fight for first in the Idaho Asphalt Services Hornet division heats up Saturday as Cris Endicott and Titus Clancy clash for the late season point lead. Endicott leads Clancy by 6 markers, a razor thin margin in a class where anything can and routinely does happen. Don’t miss a lap as Endicott and Clancy duel on track for the second-to-last time in 2024.
General admission to a full night of short track thrills and spills is just $21 for adults, $19 for seniors and military members, $8 for kids 7-11, and free for kids 6 and under. Gates open at 4:45 p.m. Saturday with the first green flag waved at 6:30 p.m. Purchase your advance tickets now at www.meridianspeedway.com before they’re gone! We’ll see you under the big, yellow water tower on Saturday, October 5, for the Boat Race of Destruction Season Finale presented by Ryan Shelby at Guild Mortgage at your NASCAR Home Track, Meridian Speedway.
