Racers Return for Stretch Run Saturday

Racers Return for Stretch Run Saturday

Racing returns to Meridian Speedway this Saturday, September 11, with Big Al’s Lucky Rides for Kids Night.  The Bud Light NASCAR Modifieds, Pepsi Sprintcars, Pauly’s Bar Room Street Stocks, Boise Bath and Kitchen Company Mini Stocks, and Zamp Race Products Stingers look for vital late-season points as they battle for the night’s Trammel Construction Feature Flags.

Despite his five victories on the season, Bud Light NASCAR Modified point leader Josh Fanopoulos has yet to break free from a three-win Kyle Latham.  Just thirteen markers apart, keep your eye on this pair as they duel through the final two events of 2021.

Another tight title chase is that for the Pepsi Sprintcar championship.  Johnny Giesler enters Saturday’s Big Al’s Lucky Rides for Kids Night back atop the standings, just seven points ahead of Ryan Newman.

Troy Evans has come on strong in the last half of the Pauly’s Bar Room Street Stock season.  Despite having scored a division-high five feature wins, Evans still finds himself 86 points behind Josh Fanopoulos with just three races remaining.

Only one Boise Bath and Kitchen Company Mini Stock racer has scored multiple victories in 2021.  With five victories Travis Pavlacky leads the most crowded class in the Concrete Jungle by 181 points over Don Trafford.  But with passing points plentiful and four events left on the schedule, the title is still anyone’s for the taking.

Niko Heinzel leads a fast pack of Zamp Race Products Stingers to green this Saturday as he looks to sew up his first division championship.  But Aaden Fanopoulos, Brenna Patton, and a whole host of others have plans of their own to take the night’s Trammel Construction Feature Flag.

Plus, kids can take a lap around the quarter-mile with their favorite driver at intermission.  Each lucky souvenir program will come with one Big Al’s Lucky Ride for Kids ticket, to be redeemed at the turn four gate before main events.

General admission to Saturday night’s Big Al’s Lucky Rides for Kids Night is just $13 for adults, $11 for seniors and military members, $7 for kids 7-11, and free for kids 6 and under.  Gates open at 4:45 p.m. with racing at 6:30 p.m.  Log on to www.meridianspeedway.com to purchase your advance tickets now, and text ‘Speed2021’ to 84483 for exclusive updates from around the quarter-mile via our text club.  We’ll see you this Saturday, September 11, for Big Al’s Lucky Rides for Kids Night under the big yellow water tower at your NASCAR Home Track, Meridian Speedway.
