Speed Tour Sprints Back Into Concrete Jungle Saturdayadmin
Meridian Speedway fans in the stands and at home alike need to hold onto their seats Saturday, June 6, as the Speed Tour Winged Sprint Cars streak to green for a Saturday night showdown. Along with the fastest drivers in the region, the Teleperformance Street Stocks, Project Filter Pro-4s, Big Daddy’s Barbecue Hornets, and Junior Stingers roar to life for a late spring run to the checkers.
After a thrilling double feature three weeks ago, the Speed Tour Sprint cars are back to take on the Concrete Jungle one more time. Cory Lockwood and Kyle Alberding conquered the Concrete Jungle to kick off the Speed Tour Sprint Car season, but with Colton Nelson, Hunter Stanley, and a host of others looking to add their names to the 2020 winners list Saturday, expect every position battle to be intense.
A strong contingent of Teleperformance Street Stock racers take to the quarter-mile Saturday as they look to unseat point leaders Kendra Occhipinti, Pat Young, and Chad Atnip. Which of these front-runners can dodge trouble and emerge ahead of the pack Saturday?
Jordan Harris has become a force to be reckoned with among the Project Filter Pro-4 ranks. As he rolls into Saturday night’s action the Nampa, Idaho racer holds a full twenty points in hand over defending champion Kenny Chandler. Can Harris continue to open a gap over the long-time division heavyweight, or will Chandler begin to crawl his way back to the top?
With the debut of the chicane behind them, the Big Daddy’s Barbecue Hornets speed into yet another unknown Saturday. Dan Breach has dozens of Hornet games up his sleeve, and it’s anyone’s guess which will make it on track this week.
A huge field of Junior Stingers swarm the speedway Saturday for their second turn on the quarter-mile oval. John Clever and Michael Bess lead the standings after week one, but there’s no telling what might happen as these youngsters face off against each other and the Concrete Jungle.
