Speedway Season Opens Saturday

The wait is finally over!  Racing returns to Meridian Speedway this Saturday, April 8 for the Pepsi Season Opener.  The Royal Purple Modified Series, College of Western Idaho Super Stocks, Project Filter Pro-4s, Teleperformance Claimer Stocks, College of Western Idaho High School Tuners, and Six Shooters kick off an action-packed 66th season of racing at the quarter-mile.

Rick Fowble leads a high-octane contingent of Royal Purple Modified Series competitors to their first green flag of the year. This touring series, now in its fifth year, is synonymous with hard racing and close finishes.

NASCAR Division III champion Melissa Weaver-Arte tries to keep a snarling pack of College of Western Idaho Super Stocks at bay Saturday.

The Project Filter Pro-4s spring back into action behind 2016 champion Joe Barton. Who will put their speedy four-cylinder in the Caleb’s Chop Shop Winner’s Circle first in 2017?

Full contact racing returns to Meridian Speedway as Brian Hyde and the Teleperformance Claimers take the track for their first skirmish of the new season.

The future stars of Meridian Speedway continue to hone their racing skills as the College of Western Idaho High School Tuners return to the track affectionately known as the ‘Concrete Jungle.’

Open-wheel race fans get their fix of slicing and dicing as the Six Shooters zip around the quarter-mile.

General admission for the Pepsi Season Opener is just $11 for adults, $6.50 for kids 7-11, and kids 6 and under get in free.
