Test and Tune Starts Speedway Season Saturdayadmin
Meridian Speedway roars to life Saturday, April 2 with the first of two Test and Tune days. Open to all classes, Saturday marks the first opportunity for competitors to shake down their machines before Meridian Speedway’s 65th season of racing goes green on April 16. From Junior Stinger drivers taking their first laps to seasoned Mountain Dew Winged Sprintcar racers logging their thousandth, the lessons learned Saturday will have far-reaching implications during the season.
These implications weigh particularly heavy among the four NASCAR National Divisions featured at Meridian Speedway in 2016. Under NASCAR’s Home Track sanctioning the Kendall Ford of Meridian Mini Stocks, Pepsi Crate Cars, College of Western Idaho Super Street Stocks, and the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Modifieds will compete not only for the Meridian Speedway Championship, but State and National Championships as well.
Be the first to feel the rumble of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Modifieds and smell the burning race fuel as familiar faces break in rides both old and new. Admission to Saturday’s Test and Tune is free. Cars hit the track at 10 a.m. and concessions will be available. Welcome the 65th season of short track racing under the big yellow water tower Saturday at Meridian Speedway.
