Trucks Pick Up New Challenge in 2024

The storied history of truck racing in Southern Idaho gets a new chapter in 2024 as the North West Tour Trucks will compete for individual track championships in addition to the series’ traditional overall season championship. The NASCAR-sanctioned Meridian and Magic Valley Speedways will each hold six events for the local ‘NASCAR Trucks’ in 2024, with each track paying points and monies individually before crowning their own season champions. Additionally, an overall North West Tour Truck Series title will be awarded based upon points scored in these twelve contests as well as the other stops on their 2024 season schedule. These schedule changes are designed to treat fans to more truck racing throughout the year and give drivers the opportunity to chase three separate championships.

For the first time in the history of both Meridian Speedway and Magic Valley Speedway truck drivers will be eligible to compete for the year end NASCAR Points Fund. Classified locally as Division 3 in 2024, the NASCAR Trucks will see a combined total of $4,000 awarded to the top-5 point earners across both tracks. Individual track champions will each take home $700, with second through fifth place taking home, 400, 350, 300, and 250 dollars respectively.

Both Meridian and Magic Valley Speedways will see 6 nights of NASCAR Truck action, including one Friday-Saturday double-header weekend. Events will continue to be 35-lap double features. Truck construction rules will continue to be provided by the North West Tour Truck Series committee. All technical inspection and race day points and procedures will be processed by the HWY 16, LLC operating group, which oversees the day-to-day operations at both Meridian Speedway and Magic Valley Speedway. A tentative schedule of events for Meridian Speedway and Magic Valley Speedway’s local NASCAR Trucks can be found below. North West Tour Truck Series officials will complete the full schedule of events which will be released early in the New Year.

Tentative Schedule of Events:
