Saturday Sees Speed Tour Sprint Car Kickoff
A thunderstorm descends on Meridian Speedway this Saturday, April 25, as the Speed Tour Sprint Cars kick off their season on Grace Assisted Living Night at the Races powered by Toyota Dealers. Alongside the winged open wheelers, the Pepsi Sprintcars, NASCAR Modifieds, Idaho CDL Training Street Stocks, NASCAR Latemodels, and Idaho Asphalt Services Hornets take to the quarter-mile asphalt oval in pursuit of the night’s Powers Transport trophies. Plus, kids get to take a lap around the track in a real racecar during the Lucky Rides for Kids event during intermission!
The Speed Tour Sprint Cars rocket into the Concrete Jungle for the first of their nine 2026 feature races. Don’t miss these fire-breathing speed machines as they fly around the quarter-mile mere inches apart.
While the Pepsi Sprintcars may not feature the downforce-generating wings of their Speed Tour counterparts, these non-winged open wheelers provide constant thrills as they dart around the track. Riley Rogers parked his sprinter in the Zamp Winner’s Circle in the division’s first race this season, and looks to make a repeat appearance to collect Saturday night’s Powers Transport trophies.
Josh Randolph has emerged atop the NASCAR Modified standings early in the 2026 campaign. Randolph has earned a 46 point advantage over standings runner up Chuck Youngblood despite not having scored a feature victory yet. Watch for Randolph to fight for his first W of the year on Grace Assisted Living Night powered by Toyota Dealers.
To nobody’s surprise, Andrew Palmer has taken control of the Idaho CDL Training Street Stocks. After his feature win in the division’s second meeting Palmer holds a 26 point lead over Jake Altman as the division rumbles to green Saturday.
Saturday sees the Idaho Asphalt Services Hornets take the quarter-mile for the third time this season behind a familiar foe. Defending champion Ron Clausen has clawed his way to the top of the standings, but holds just 10 points over Tommy Harrod, 15 over Cody Ballantyne, and 21 over Kyla Vanderpool. But no lead is safe in this exciting division as each week poses its own unique challenge.
Plus, kids can take a ride with their favorite driver during the Lucky Rides for Kids event at intermission.
General admission is just $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and military members, $9 for kids 7-11, and free for kids 6 and under. Gates open at 4:45 p.m. Saturday with the first green flag waved at 6:30 p.m. Log on to www.meridianspeedway.com to purchase your tickets while they last.
