Racing Returns to Meridian Speedway This Saturday

Meridian Speedway’s 2022 race season begins this Saturday, April 9, with the ATS Inland Season Opener. The Bud Light NASCAR Modifieds, Pepsi Sprintcars, Project Filter Pro-4s, Touchdown Automotive Street Stocks, and Big Daddy’s Barbecue Hornets are set to test their mettle on the quarter-mile asphalt oval in the first of the year’s 29 events.

After the closest title fight in Meridian Speedway history, the Bud Light NASCAR Modifieds return to the Concrete Jungle for their 2022 campaign. The championship was too close to call all season in 2021, but when the dust settled Josh Fanopoulos and his number 21 stood victorious. Will Fanopoulos return to his winning ways Saturday, or will a new challenger emerge to take on the defending champion?

The Pepsi Sprintcar division is wide-open in 2022 as Ryan Newman, Bryan Warf, and Jamo Stephenson battle to fill the void left by reigning champion Johnny Giesler’s exit from the division. Don’t miss a lap as these open-wheelers duel for standings supremacy on ATS Inland Season Opener Saturday.

Consistency was key to Ryan Bailey’s 2021 Project Filter Pro-4 championship. But Kenny Chandler, Jordan Harris, and a fast pack of Pro-4 pilots are ready to take home the 2022 title.

The rumble of Detroit muscle returns to the Concrete Jungle this Saturday as the Touchdown Automotive Street Stocks make their 2022 debut. A whole host of drivers roll into the ATS Inland Season Opener ready to dethrone defending champion Josh Fanopoulos, including standings runner-up Troy Evans, consistent contender Taylor Occhipinti, and the rest of a talented field.

Anything can happen in the Big Daddy’s Barbecue Hornet division. You won’t want to miss a moment of the thrills and spills as these former grocery getters are hustled around the Concrete Jungle.

General admission for the ATS Inland Season Opener is just $14 for adults, $12 for seniors 60 and up and military members, $8 for kids 7-11, and, as always, free for kids 6 and under. Gates open at 4:45 p.m. with the first green flag of the year at 6:30 p.m. Stay up to speed with all the news and notes from around the quarter-mile and purchase your advance tickets online at www.meridianspeedway.com and be sure to Like the Meridian Speedway 2022 page on Facebook. We’ll see you this Saturday, April 9, for the ATS Inland Season Opener under the big yellow water tower at your NASCAR Home Track, Meridian Speedway.
