NAPA NSX Sprints Take First Flight Saturday Night
A new winged sprint car tradition takes flight this Saturday, May 9, as the NAPA Auto Parts NSX 360 Winged Sprint Cars make their premiere appearance on Modelo Mother’s Day Especial night. The Pizza Hut Legends, Mini Modifieds, Allied Fence Mini Stocks, Idaho Asphalt Services Hornets, and Speedway Bandoleros also go wheel-to-wheel for the night’s Road Runner Driving Academy trophies. Plus, all mothers are invited into the grandstands free of charge!
Weekly winged sprint car racing returns to the Concrete Jungle this Saturday night with the introduction of the NAPA Auto Parts NSX 360 Winged Sprint Cars. While this division is designed to be more cost-effective than their Speed Tour counterparts, don’t expect this to throw a damper on the open-wheel action. Don’t miss your chance to see who walks away with the division’s first feature victory.
The Pizza Hut Legends follow young Jhett Phipps into the Modelo Mother’s Day Especial. Phipps, the defending Speedway Bandolero champ, survived a rough-and-tumble first feature to emerge three points ahead of long-time Pizza Hut Legends racer Chase Gilbertson. Keep your eyes on the young phenom as he fights to stay atop the standings Saturday.
The Mini Modifieds also make their series debut Saturday. Now a club division the Mini Modifieds have increased their ranks over the winter and are poised to kick 2026 off with a bang.
Morgan Trammel leads fellow early-season Allied Fence Mini Stock contenders Travis Pavlacky, Riley Rogers, and Craig Taylor as they assemble for their third contest of the year. Trammel enters Saturday’s action with a 24 point advantage over Pavlacky, with Rogers and Taylor 33 and 36 points back respectively. Which of your top four racers will take the checkers this weekend?
A familiar pair head up the Idaho Asphalt Services Hornet division. Tommy Harrod leads defending division champion Ron Clausen by just 16 markers as they roll to Saturday night’s green flag.
Just two points separate Speedway Bandolero competitors Cayden Barker and Tayton Monroe atop the division. But a hungry group of competitors including Paizleigh Lopez, Kyro Phipps, and Khambrie Dee all sit within striking distance of the points leader.
General admission is free for all mothers this Saturday night! For all non-mothers, general admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and military members, $9 for kids 7-11, and free for kids 6 and under.
