Boat Races of Destruction Make Their 2026 Debut
We’re smashing and crashing this Saturday night at Meridian Speedway as the Busch Light Boat Bash powered by Red Right Hand takes over the quarter-mile asphalt oval. Before the World Famous Boat Race of Destruction takes the green flag, the NASCAR Modifieds, Pizza Hut Legends, Allied Fence Mini Stocks, Speedway Bandoleros, Firehouse Pub and Grill Thunderdogs, and Idaho Asphalt Services Hornets battle wheel-to-wheel for the night’s Allied Fence trophies. Plus, Spectator Drags return to the Concrete Jungle and we cap the whole evening off with a heaping helping of fireworks!
The youth movement is in full swing at the top of the NASCAR Modified points standings. After his fourth- to first-place last lap in the division’s first meeting, Rusty Houpt leads fellow youngster James Strikwerda by a single point. Just a handful back of this pair is ‘elder’ statesman of the podium Josh Randolph, the only one of the top three with a birthyear beginning with 19. Watch for the two youths to continue their fight against the division’s wily veterans in both of their Saturday night features.
Pizza Hut takes their first turn as the Legends division sponsor Saturday night. Last season Tyler Monroe navigated his way through the chaos of this popular division to take home the title but rolls into the Busch Light Boat Bash powered by Red Right Hand with a hungry contingent of racers ready to dethrone the defending champ.
Riley Rogers looks to rebound from the last lap heartbreak of the Allied Fence Mini Stock’s 2026 debut race. But Rogers has his work cut out for him as he battles defending division champion Morgan Trammel, upstart Craig Taylor, perennial title contender Travis Pavlacky, and the rest of the hard-charging Mini Stock pack.
The Speedway Bandoleros also make their way into Meridian Speedway for the first time in 2026 this Saturday. Jhett Phipps raced his way to the division title last year, but Tayton Monroe leads a talented group of youngsters to green as they race for the night's Allied Fence trophy.
The Firehouse Pub and Grill Thunderdogs and Idaho Asphalt Services Hornets each run a full night of racing action before they strap on boats and take to the Concrete Jungle for the night’s Boat Race of Destruction. While the last boat-tow rig combo running takes the overall win, don't forget to watch out for those gunning for Master of Disaster honors.
Plus, we’re bringing Spectator Drags back to the quarter-mile asphalt oval! Grab a helmet and check in at the pit gate to race your grocery getter against your neighbor in a one-lap dash for the checkers. Finally, we light up the skies above Meridian with the first fireworks display of the year.
General admission to the Busch Light Boat Bash powered by Red Right Hand is $22 for adults 12 and over, $20 for seniors 60 and over and military members with ID, $9 for kids 7-11, and free for kids 6 and under. Gates open at 4:45 p.m. Saturday with races starting at 6:30 p.m. The World Famous Boat Race of Destruction will follow the night’s racing action. Tickets are selling out fast! Log on to www.meridianspeedway.com and use the Tickets link to purchase yours before they’re gone. We’ll see you under the big, yellow water tower this Saturday, April 18, for the Busch Light Boat Bash powered by Red Right Hand at your NASCAR Home Track, Meridian Speedway.
